About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven IT Audit Manager to lead the planning, execution, and reporting of end-to-end IT internal audit engagements. This role provides independent assurance over the effectiveness of the organisation's IT controls, risk management practices, and governance processes. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of audit delivery, manage key stakeholder relationships, and deliver clear, concise audit reports. The role also constructively challenges management to continually enhance the organisation's control environment and align with best practices.

What you'll be doing

  • Work with Senior Audit Management for direction; but ultimately lead the end-to-end audit.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with senior stakeholders across the business to influence improvements in the risk and control frameworks.
  • Help Hargreaves Lansdown accomplish its objectives by applying a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and control processes across all business areas, influencing improvements.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to consider how data can be mined for data-led insights and effective audit testing.
  • Work on one's own initiative or leading small teams that may include third party auditors using strong management and coaching skills.
  • Confidently contribute to the audit planning process with a strategic viewpoint based on experience.
  • Continuously seek improvements in methodology and ways of working, including maintaining an effective QA framework.
  • Lead and participate in development opportunities for the audit function such as better use of automation or Artificial Intelligence.

About you

  • CISA or other relevant qualifications such as CRISC/CISSP.
  • Experience auditing technical Security and Resilience IT controls across the technology stack (applications and infrastructure).
  • Experience with both on-premise and Cloud environments.
  • Experience auditing transformation/change, particularly IT change.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics.
  • Minimum two years' experience in IT internal auditing in financial services.
  • Strong analytical/communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proactive and well-practised in effective multi-tasking.

It would be preferable if the role holder also has experience of:

  • Agile ways of working.
  • Undertaking integrated audits.
  • Horizontal thinking that follows client/product journeys.
  • Operational Resilience / GDPR / Cloud environments / Payment services.

Interview process

This will be a two-stage interview process, including competency-based questions and a presentation.

Working Schedule

The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flexible working pattern with a minimum of 2 days in the office.
