IT Infrastructure Analyst

Overview

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to oversee both on-site networks and cloud-based infrastructures, with a primary focus on hosted active directory services as well as Azure technologies, while remaining versatile enough to incorporate other platforms as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain and enhance IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security and continuous improvement, under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director.
  • Design, implement and optimise IT systems to support organisational objectives; manage IT infrastructure projects.
  • Act as a key escalation point for the college onsite support teams after they have exhausted what\'s available to them; provide advanced technical expertise as part of the 3rd line support framework.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, leveraging technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and collaboration with vendors or external support teams to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain core systems, upgrades and security to meet strict compliance standards and safeguard against threats.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, including Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and cloud services; understand Microsoft Active Directory and Desktop/Server OS and Microsoft System Management Tools.
  • Understand Network Technology and Network Topologies and services; work proactively to anticipate challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align IT systems with organisational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in cloud and on-prem backend services (Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint); detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory; Desktop and Server operating systems; Microsoft System Management Tools.
  • Detailed understanding of Network Technology and Network Topologies and services.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented professional with deep technical skills and the ability to anticipate challenges; acting as a driver of innovation while ensuring security and resilience.

Location and travel

Although predominantly based at Merton College, this is a Group Wide Post and you will need to travel/work from any of STCG Campuses as required.
