Overview

My client, working within the education sector, is looking for an IT Infrastructure and Change Engineer on a permanent basis. Location: Plymouth, Devon (Remote-working with travel to client sites).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, upgrade, and support IT infrastructure including switches, access points, servers (if any), cabling and security.
  • Ensure the site’s connectivity and security, including screening and systems, are functioning optimally.
  • Assist with local deployment of centrally managed solutions, including device imaging, software installations and updates.
  • Responsible for scheduled backup operations.
  • Proven IT support experience working on-site in a business environment.
  • Experience with managing enterprise-level cloud platforms.
  • Network management (switches, routing, firewalls, Wi-Fi, servers).

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ advanced experience in IT and basic security.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and MIS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of UniFi and Meraki networks.
  • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V), networking (VLANs, WAN) and endpoint protection.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
  • Experience of managing enterprise-level cloud platforms.

The Opportunity

The key purpose of this role is to work under the direction of the IT Services Manager and the Head of IT and Infrastructure to deliver an outstanding ICT provision across the business, ensuring service excellence that supports all IT users to achieve progress. Work collaboratively within the IT Support Team to support and enhance the IT network and develop effective solutions while supporting strategic IT transformation and ongoing change programs.
