Role involves leading cross-functional programs related to business divestitures, mergers, and acquisitions, with accountability for the successful separation and integration of business units and for delivering seamless transitions with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Program Leadership & Strategy: Lead end-to-end planning and execution of divestiture and M&A programs, including IT separation, integration, and transition service agreements (TSAs).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure strategic alignment with corporate objectives and transformation goals.
  • Cross-Functional Oversight: Oversee technology-focused (e.g., infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity) and non-technology workstreams (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, Customer).
  • Coordinate with workstream leads to ensure timely delivery of milestones and risk mitigation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between executive sponsors, business unit leadership, external advisors, and acquiring organizations.
  • Facilitate steering committees, executive updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and manage risks across IT and business domains, including data integrity, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR), and cybersecurity.
  • Ensure all program activities meet legal and contractual obligations.
  • Technology Leadership: Guide the disentanglement and migration of IT systems, data, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the establishment of independent IT environments for divested entities.
  • Ensure continuity of operations and post-separation support.
  • Change Management & Communication: Develop and implement change management strategies to support impacted employees and customers.
  • Deliver training, communications, and support materials to facilitate adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Performance & Continuous Improvement: Track and report program performance using dashboards and KPIs.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of divestiture and M&A practices.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in leading divestiture, M&A, or large-scale transformation programs.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and complex project portfolios.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and data migration.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and legal frameworks in transitional environments.
  • Formal project/program management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) preferred.
