Overview
Forestry England is looking for an IT Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance (SGRC) Manager who will oversee IT security strategy and related governance, risk, and compliance activities within the IT Department. The role is part of the IT Leadership Team and requires collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, consultants, and partners to deliver against strategic direction and government standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee IT security strategy to support business objectives and meet legal, regulatory, and government standards.
- Identify and manage security risks across IT systems; promote a consistent approach to risk treatment; embed a security-first culture.
- Act as the senior IT security advisor, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, consultants, and partners.
- Perform as a hands-on team lead, applying your skills, knowledge, and experience to drive delivery across the organisation.
Where you'll work
You must be within commutable distance of the National Office in north Bristol. This is a blended working role—2 days per week in the office (or as required) with flexibility to work from home for the remainder. You will be required to visit sites across England and some overnight stays may be necessary. Infrequent out-of-hours work may be required to support incident resolution. Participation in infrequent planned on-call rotas may be necessary.
