Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity with our client who is looking for a Junior Commercial Lawyer for 3 months.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle, from review and negotiation to internal approvals. This role is crucial to ensuring our contracts align with internal policies and legal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Review and negotiate a variety of public and private sector contracts, including those at the tender stage. This includes working from a contracts playbook and drafting deviations to client-provided documents, such as NEC 3/4 templates.
- Internal Governance: Manage the internal contract approval process, ensuring all contracts adhere to our Delegation of Authority and other governance policies.
- Workflow Management: Actively manage contracts coming from our central legal queue. You will be responsible for keeping a shared teamwork tracker up to date, providing visibility into your progress.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in contract review and negotiation, with a strong understanding of legal principles.
- Familiarity with public and private sector contracts.
- Experience with standard contract templates like NEC 3/4 is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
