Joining our Cyber team and working with a large database of high profile clients, as our Junior Cyber Security Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our organization's information systems and technology infrastructure and those of our customers. Help support the Cyber team with identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber risks, implementing effective governance practices, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

This is a superb opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity while giving to the overall risk management strategy of the organisation.

Office based in Gosport 2 days per week, 3 days home working. Eligibility for DV Clearance is essential for this role.

What you\'ll be doing

  • Support security activities for a dedicated client engagement.
  • Support the Cyber team identifying and understanding customer requirements.
  • Support other Cyber Security team members through recording and monitoring of activities and findings as they identify potential cyber risks, assess their impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support bid responses.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry standard methodologies, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Engage with the Cyber Security Community of Expertise.

What you\'ll bring

  • Awareness of IT Security.
  • Some experience in SOC or Cyber.
  • Ability to work under routine supervision and use minor discretion in resolving problems or enquiries.
  • Lead work within short time frames and absorb technical information when it is presented systematically and apply it optimally.
  • Willing to learn and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

It would be great if you had

  • SC OR DV Clearance.
  • Knowledge and ability to explain the basic principles of Information Security Governance and how it applies within an organisation.
  • Experience of Data Protection, Audit and/or Risk Management.
