Overview

You will manage the project, fully supported by leading academic experts within University of Nottingham's School of Veterinary Medicine and Science and Nottingham University Business School. You will be employed by the University of Nottingham but be part of the RCVS Knowledge team, working at the RCVS Knowledge central London offices at least one day a week, with flexibility to work remotely for some of the time. Working directly with RCVS Knowledge's Head of Quality Improvement, you will create, test and deliver a QI model to enhance the running of veterinary practice, while considering commercial requirements and clinical challenges. You will interact regularly with RCVS Knowledge's subject matter and marketing and communications teams. You will be supported by staff at the University of Nottingham to conduct high quality research. You will be actively mentored, with £2,000 pa for training, combined with KTP management and commercial training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, development and implementation of an evidence-based quality improvement (QI) model for the veterinary sector, initially in farm practice and expanding more widely.
  • Manage the project in collaboration with academic partners and stakeholders across veterinary organisations and practice groups.
  • Test and deliver QI methods that are applicable within clinical veterinary settings while considering commercial requirements and challenges.
  • Engage with RCVS Knowledge’s subject matter, marketing and communications teams; coordinate with University staff to conduct high-quality research.
  • Be actively mentored and develop professional skills through targeted training and development opportunities.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of a master’s degree with a research component in veterinary medicine/science, veterinary nursing, QI, behaviour change, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with and coordinating a range of stakeholders; experience in project management.
  • Background in an applied clinical veterinary or agricultural setting and some experience of teaching or development of teaching courses is desirable.

  • Salary: £44,000–£48,000 per year
