New Today
Are you passionate about landscape planning, landscape assessments and sustainable masterplanning? Are you looking for opportunities to work on interesting projects? Are you ready to take your career to the next level in landscape consultancy?
Our growing Landscape Architecture team has exciting opportunities (from Senior Architect/Planner to Associate Director) for experienced and enthusiastic Landscape Architects with Landscape Planning and LVIA experience to join us working on a broad range of prestigious landscape projects across the UK.
These are fantastic opportunities for you to further develop your career, contributing to a wide range of projects across sectors including urban regeneration, new town settlements, tall buildings, residential/mixed use greenfield development, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects at various stages of the planning process.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out landscape/townscape and visual impact assessments (LVIAs), providing strategic analysis and strategic green infrastructure advice and contributing to landscape-led masterplanning. Whilst landscape planning is the core focus of the roles, you will have the opportunity to continue to utilise your landscape design skills.
You will work as part of our collaborative UK Landscape Architecture team, which includes senior colleagues and landscape planning and design specialists in our hub offices of Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Reading, Warrington and Edinburgh. We’re a friendly, inclusive and supportive team that values integrity, curiosity, creativity and shared success and which believes in providing suitable challenges for personal and team growth.
We believe that it is our people and their individual talents that make us special, with everyone encouraged to grow and flourish both personally and professionally with genuine career opportunities. You’ll be part of a culture that empowers you to contribute meaningfully and shape your role in a way that aligns with your strengths and interests.
These roles can be based in either our Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Reading, Warrington and Edinburgh offices (other offices may be considered), with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in-office and home working. Our offices in London, Birmingham and Bristol are centrally located in the city centre within a short distance of public transport links. Our offices are friendly and sociable places offering a supportive working environment.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to be able to demonstrate your skills and experience within the following areas:
- Preliminary landscape and visual appraisals to inform the development process
- Landscape and visual impact assessments
- Conceptual and strategic design sketches as appropriate
- Townscape and visual impact assessments and tall building assessments
- Strategic assessments of designations such as Green Belts and Strategic Gaps
- Landscape Capacity and Sensitivity Studies and character assessments
- Input to Vision Documents, Design and Access Statements and Design Codes
You may already be a CMLI or currently be progressing on the Landscape Institute Pathway to Chartership (P2C). Support and mentoring will be provided for P2C development for those that require it.
You will have a track record of relevant work experience in a landscape architecture practice or working on landscape projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy and experience of completing LVIAs and other aspects of landscape planning.
You will have good knowledge of current UK planning and environmental assessment legislation. You will have the ability to develop designs, write reports, and be confident working with industry software.
We create a working environment that offers flexibility, adopting a hybrid approach to agile working and offer a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare and a flexi-benefits package allowing you to choose benefits that are truly valuable to you.
