Closing date: 09 November 2025 Lawyer (Commercial) We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated lawyer to join our legal team. You will provide legal advice and support to the Council and its departments in connection with procurement and commercial contract matters. This is an exciting time to join our recently reviewed legal team, giving you the opportunity to really make this role your own and have a strong influence on how we deliver our services. The team are very approachable and have developed very strong and resilient arrangements for communication and support. Key responsibilities of this role are:
You will be a practising lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive) with a good understanding of contract and procurement law, including disputes. Joining a dedicated and supportive team in Legal Services, you’ll be committed to working efficiently to deliver timely accurate and effective advice.
What skills and experience do you need to have:
To be a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx). Experience of drafting legal documents. the ability to give clear and accurate legal advice, including training. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
