Overview

Hawksworth are hiring for a Lead Azure Developer (\u002eNET, Microservices, DDD) for a large Insurance group. This role focuses on delivering scalable backend services using .NET and Azure technologies with a strong emphasis on Microservice architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and team leadership. You will establish standard development patterns across backend services.

Base pay range

£80,000 to £92,000 base salary + good package. The role can be remote with occasional travel to Oxford and London HQ.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scalable backend services using .NET and Azure technologies.
• Apply Microservice architecture, event-driven and message-based systems concepts.
• Lead and mentor a development team; establish standard development patterns across backend services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.

Qualifications

• Degree educated in a Computer Science related subject.
• Ideally Azure certifications (Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Expertise in Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps.
• Strong understanding of Microservices architecture including event-driven and message-based systems.
• Familiarity with Blazor.
• 5+ years in .NET development with C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API and SQL Server.
• Good leadership skills.
• Financial Services experience ideally Insurance industry background.
