Lead Clerks to Governing Boards – North-West Gloucestershire
We are looking for Gloucestershire-based Lead Clerks to join Three Sixty Governance Services, providing essential administrative and procedural support to Governing Boards and their committees in North-West Gloucestershire.
Part-time & flexible hours – work around your other commitments
Remote working – with in-person meeting attendance as agreed
Self-employed contract – full support and training provided
~2-10 hours a week, term time only; the number of hours depends on the number of Boards taken on.

About the role
As a Lead Clerk, you will ensure meetings run smoothly, records are accurate, and, along with the Governance Lead, ensure Boards receive the advice and information they need to operate effectively within relevant legal and procedural frameworks.
You will work closely with Chairs, Senior Leaders, and the Governance Lead to:
- Organise and administer meetings, including helping to prepare agendas, papers, and meeting packs
- Attend meetings to record accurate, clear minutes and agreed actions and decisions
- Monitor progress on agreed actions and circulate minutes within agreed timescales
- Liaise professionally with Board members, school leaders, and external bodies as needed
- Support Board training, development, and compliance in partnership with the Governance Lead
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized, methodical, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion
- Confident in giving procedural advice and supporting decision-making processes
- Comfortable working independently but collaboratively within a wider team
- Knowledge of governance, compliance, or education administration (desirable but not essential — all training provided)
