Lead DevOps Engineer - Cloud Platform & Site Reliability Location: Nottingham, UK | Team: LSEG Risk Intelligence Engineering

Are you ready to lead the charge in building scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that power global LSEG Risk Intelligence products? We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive innovation, mentor engineers, and shape the future of our cloud-native infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Automate full‑stack infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and GitOps workflows.

Lead the design of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or Jenkins to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery.

Champion Kubernetes-based platforms using Amazon EKS and Istio Service Mesh to build scalable, service‑oriented architectures.

Drive observability and reliability engineering through proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies.

Mentor and guide DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with development, security, and product teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business goals.

Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities and developer experience.

Tech Arsenal

Cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation

Container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), Istio Service Mesh

CI/CD tooling: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket

Scripting & automation: Bash/Shell, Python

Security best practices: IAM, KMS, encryption in transit/at rest, DevSecOps

Monitoring & observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar

Agile & DevOps culture: GitOps, SRE principles, Agile methodologies

What You Bring

6+ years in DevOps or platform engineering, with experience in a technical lead role.

Proven experience designing and operating cloud‑native platforms at scale.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across teams.

A passion for automation, developer enablement, and continuous delivery.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
