Lead DevOps Engineer – nexhub (Hybrid / London)

At nexhub, we’re the engineering force behind nexmin — an innovative, always-on delivery platform redefining how food, groceries, and retail products reach customers across the UK and Europe. Backed by a London-based team of technologists, we’re transforming last-mile logistics through automation, data, and intelligent cloud infrastructure.

If you’re passionate about building scalable systems that power real-world impact, we’d love to have you join us.

The Role

We’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes. You’ll be the driving force behind automation, scalability, and reliability for the nexmin platform — helping our engineering teams ship faster, safer, and smarter.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for the nexmin platform.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub or GitLab) to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or Azure Container Apps.
  • Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to ensure reproducible, automated environments.
  • Create and manage AWS Lambda functions and custom deployment scripts.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to streamline delivery and improve reliability.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Ensure systems meet data privacy and compliance standards, including GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Expertise in:
  • CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD)
  • Containers & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Cloud Services (AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, Azure Container Apps)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting for production-grade systems.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams.

Bonus Points For

  • AWS, Azure, or DevOps certifications.
  • Experience with secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
  • Previous experience in a startup or high-growth environment.

Why Join nexhub

  • Work on a high-impact platform reshaping on-demand delivery.
  • Be part of a tech-driven, collaborative culture that values innovation and autonomy.
  • Flexible working options: Hybrid or fully remote (UK-based preferred).
  • Competitive compensation and growth opportunities within a fast-evolving company.
