£4,800 car allowance, 25% bonus, 4% pension, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
Company Overview
This role is with an established and fast-growing organisation operating in the UK renewable energy and grid infrastructure sector. The company is involved in the full lifecycle of energy infrastructure projects—from design and engineering through to construction and asset management. With a focus on sustainable energy and grid decarbonisation, the business delivers HV and EHV electrical connections for a wide range of utility-scale developments across the country.
The team operates a hybrid working model, with a collaborative and technically focused environment that supports engineering development and project delivery at scale.
Role Overview:
A lead electrical engineering role supporting the delivery of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) grid connection projects. The position involves leading multi-disciplinary design teams and delivering a range of engineering outputs across transmission and distribution projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the design process across multiple HV and EHV projects
- Review and contribute to:
- Protection and main connection single-line diagrams
- Switchgear and transformer specifications
- CT/VT and battery charger sizing
- Multicore termination and cable sizing schedules
- Small power and lighting designs
- Substation and control room layout designs
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, DNO/IDNO policies, and internal procedures
- Deliver project documentation according to agreed schedules
Requirements:
- Experience working with ICPs, DNOs, or IDNOs
- Understanding of EHV substation design and delivery (ideally up to 132kV)
- Familiarity with UK NGET and DNO technical standards
- Knowledge of BSEN, IEC, CIGRE, IEEE, and ENA guidelines
- Proficient in AutoCAD
