Lead Engineer - Commissioning

Capula are looking for experienced Lead Protection & Control Systems Engineers with proven skills and track record in the Transmission and Distribution System. The successful candidate will, as part of a broader Protection and Control team, be responsible for the design and implementation of Protection Systems that are for clients across the UK Transmission and Distribution sector.
As an experienced Protection & Control Systems Engineer, it is expected you will be able to demonstrate your understanding of Protection & Control Systems, the Transmission & Distribution sector, applicable standards and technologies required.
Technically lead and advise for the project Protection & Control content ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
Lead the design including chairing design workshops, review meetings and working with the stakeholders to ensure a compliant system is provided meeting client and regulatory standards.
Develop SLD, KLD’s, System Architecture and Concept Level Designs to support solution development and ensure that project / client requirements are fulfilled, including the identification of the most suitable technology for the application.
Undertake site visits / non-intrusive surveys as required to support the tendering and project teams in technical matters, as part of the design activities or as part of site implementation support.
Contribute to the client approval qualification of solutions, helping to ensure compliance to client specifications/requirements.
Be responsible for the effective delivery to time, quality and budget.
Provide technical support, input and feedback for sales and tendering of projects.
Support the Project Manager in identification of change, programme, cost etc
Support others in the project team to ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project.
Have experience in Protection & Control Technology across one or more of the key vendors.
Have a working knowledge of IEC61850 and how to implement this within the field.
Ability to work independently/Lead/work as part of a team.
Be flexible in methods of working to achieve best outcomes.
Successfully completed technical degree (Bachelor, Master, Diploma) or a comparable qualification or relevant experience.
Full UK drivers’ licence and willingness to travel.
