Overview

Lead Java Architect — Greenfield Digital Asset Platform (12 Month Extendable Contract Inside IR35 - mostly remote - City of London).

This position is a hands-on leadership role focused on architecting and building a new distributed ledger-based solution for post-trade processing in a FinTech context. You will drive architecture from concept to minimum viable product (MVP) and work closely with a team to prototype, code, and deliver.

What you'll bring to the table

• Proven "Builder" Experience: a track record of architecting and building complex, greenfield systems from concept to deployment.
• Expert-Level Java Architecture: deep JVM expertise, experience with Spring Boot and microservices, and knowledge of enterprise patterns (e.g., event-driven architecture).
• Financial Domain Knowledge: understanding of capital markets, post-trade processes, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Technical Breadth: distributed systems, cryptography, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• An Entrepreneurial Spirit: comfortable with ambiguity and driving viability of new solutions.

Bonus points

Experience with Blockchain technology; prior work on digital payments or financial market infrastructure projects.
