Lead Java Developer | Oxford - £120k

Java, Springboot, Rest APIs, Microservices, TDD, DevOps, CI/CD

Responsibilities

• Build platforms that enable researchers to work with complex data, including designing fast, reliable search systems for chemical data.
• Improve the accuracy of machine learning models and create clean, intuitive interfaces for researchers.
• Deliver robust software solutions; focus on meaningful, non-throwaway features that solve real problems for users.

Team & Environment

Currently an international team of 10 engineers; the objective is to grow the Oxford function with experienced Senior/Lead Java engineers.

Qualifications & Tech Stack

• Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
• REST APIs, TDD, Kafka
• AWS, DevOps, CI/CD
• Python (preferred), agile practices

• Salary in the range £100k - £120k, hybrid in Oxford
• 8% pension, health and dental insurance, 25 days holiday
