Lead Process Engineer / Process Engineer

We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Lead Process Engineer or Process Engineer based at our Anglian Water Region with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Head of Engineering and provide technical direction to discipline engineers in water or water recycling non-infrastructure projects. Your role includes supporting design for non-infrastructure schemes, ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and compliant with current legislation and standards.

As our Process Engineer in the Place Based Thinking team, you’ll collaborate with the project design team to develop process solutions that optimize plant performance, utilize standard designs, and adhere to @one engineering design standards.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Undertake process design of wastewater solutions and sewerage systems aligned with Anglian Water’s goals for customer service, environmental protection, and efficiency. Deliverables include:
  • Oversee process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, pump calculations, capacity assessments, data sheets, and technical bid analysis of third-party process equipment.
  • Communicate effectively across relevant levels to ensure technical excellence is understood and implemented.
  • Escalate potential issues impacting time, cost, or quality proactively.
  • Support health and safety standards, ensuring designs comply with CDM Regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Maintain collaboration with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless interface management and share best practices.
  • To succeed, you should have a degree in wastewater process science or engineering and experience in large-scale wastewater projects. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills are essential. Demonstrating proficiency in IT and a balance of technical and interpersonal skills will enable you to deliver optimal process engineering solutions.
