An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team within a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation.
In this pivotal role, you will drive initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, scalability, and performance, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant site operations.
This position is ideal for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer ready to step into a more strategic and data-driven role, focusing on long‑term asset performance, system optimisation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable and efficient reliability processes for equipment and utilities.
Implement monitoring tools and lead incident response to ensure system uptime and optimal performance.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures using tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
Design and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset longevity.
Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
Provide on‑the‑job maintenance training to technicians across maintenance and production teams.
Collaborate with HSE, QA, Biosafety, and Production teams to ensure seamless operational integration.
Supervise specialist contractors on-site to resolve complex technical issues and enhance reliability.
Automate manual processes to improve system efficiency and reduce downtime.
Lead and participate in deviation investigations and manage CAPA follow‑up for recurring issues.
Partner with the maintenance stores team to ensure appropriate stock levels of critical parts.
What We’re Looking For
Time-served in a maintenance or engineering role at a senior level.
Experience within a pharmaceutical, GMP, or high‑containment environment is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, preventive and predictive maintenance.
Cross‑functional mechanical and electrical skill set preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with an emphasis on system performance improvement.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse, cross‑functional teams.
Formal education in an engineering discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
