Lead Software Engineer – .NET / AWS / Databricks Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid) | Salary: Up to £85k per annum | Full‑time | Mid‑Senior level Who We Are We’re an established technology‑driven organisation focused on building secure, scalable and high‑performing digital platforms. Our engineering culture promotes innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. Who We’re Seeking An experienced technical leader to own and drive our back‑end and data strategy. You’ll lead teams responsible for designing, developing and optimising cloud‑based systems, data pipelines and APIs, ensuring robust, secure solutions aligned with modern engineering best practices. Responsibilities
Lead the design, development and implementation of .NET back‑end systems and data workflows using Databricks. Oversee building and optimisation of data pipelines within AWS. Drive engineering excellence, establishing standards, metrics and best practices. Mentor and develop engineering teams, encouraging innovation and continuous learning. Champion modern engineering practices – CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps approaches. Design and deliver RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on performance and scalability.
What You’ll Bring
Strong technical leadership and experience managing engineering teams. Hands‑on experience with AWS data services and cloud‑native architectures. Proficiency in Python and SQL. Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives. Knowledge of Azure and experience with Databricks or similar data platforms. 25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off.
