Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy. You will support Business Units in achieving waste reduction, carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001 standards, and legal requirements across Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel.
What you’ll do:
- Provide expert advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability matters to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Support risk management by establishing environmental assurance and audit programs.
- Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
- Develop and maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports.
- Review environmental aspects and impacts within Business Units, including climate change risks.
- Embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout project lifecycles in collaboration with Bid, Design, and Operational Teams.
Who you are:
You should have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: PIEMA
- ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification
- Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice
- Proven track record in reducing environmental impact of equipment and infrastructure
- Experience managing complex technical projects and change initiatives
- Full driving license and willingness to travel across the UK
