We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Employability Coach to join our business, here at City & Guilds Training.
This role will suit an individual who is passionate and enthusiastic about education.
As a Learning Support Employability Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enabling our learners to achieve their education and employment goals.
Learning Support and Employability Coach will work with all Intertrain or TS4U learners with declared learning needs, and those identified as requiring additional support during their time at Intertrain or TS4U.
We are flexible with the candidates' location for this role as you will mainly work from home, however we would like the candidates to be flexible to travel to our centres and meet with our learners as and when required. This may include locations in South of England, Midlands, and locations in North of the UK too.

About the role:
The role will consist of coordinating additional support and ensuring that those learners receive sufficient support.
The role will also support careers information, advice and guidance and wellbeing initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Be an advocate for learners who require additional support by sharing information with staff where appropriate and raising awareness of additional learner needs.
- Support delivery staff to develop teaching strategies and resources in line with individual learning plans which enable learners to access information and be successful in their course of study.
- Provide learning support for learners through mentoring on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and coordinating a bank of learning support assistance during in-class delivery/remote/Virtual learning to assist the learning process.
- Support careers information, advice and guidance with progression, employability skills into sustained employment within the industry.
- Support wellbeing initiatives and support days to monitor the personal development of learners.
- Provide access information for assessment purposes.
- Produce monitoring information for monthly reports.
- Complete, communicate and monitor necessary documents required for reasonable adjustments in line with industry/regulatory requirements.
- Complete, communicate and monitor all documentation needed for funding requirements.
- Understand and uphold safeguarding principles and learner welfare, referring concerns appropriately.
- Support learners to engage with employers through employability sessions, mock interviews, or employer encounters.
- Champion inclusive learning practices and remove barriers to access for all learners, including those with SEND or from disadvantaged groups.
About You:
What we are looking for:
- Prior experience of coordinating and monitoring learning support.
- Experience of carrying out person-centred planning, collating and sharing of information in a timely fashion.
- Prior experience of working with individuals with additional needs and supporting them successfully.
- Prior experience of supporting employability skills.
- Understanding of local and national careers advisory services.
- Strong administrative and organisation skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal.
We would love you to have…
- Experience of supporting a range of additional learning needs in a post -16 setting
- Prior proven experience of supporting delivery staff by helping with the sourcing of resources and materials to ensure effective support for all learners, with a particular focus on those with dyslexia
- A sound knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and other related policies and procedures together with an understanding of a broad range of health-related issues
- Prior experience of coordinating and managing careers advisory sessions
- An understanding of Ofsted requirements with regards to SEND
- Knowledge of DFE funding requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements i.e reasonable adjustments
- Patient, approachable and empathetic mentality is crucial
- A creative, inventive outlook to supporting additional needs
- Proven ability and confidence to deal with a diverse range of individuals
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Clear thinking and a simple communicator
- Passionate about inclusive life-long learning, education and training
