Are you ready to make a real impact in clinical education? We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Clinical Practice team within the School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences. We are seeking a Lecturer with up-to-date expertise in physical assessment, backed by hands-on clinical experience as a practitioner. Our programmes\' curriculum is focused on preparing practitioners to develop their role or innovate their practice. We believe in collaborative learning, partnering with students, academics, researchers, service users, and healthcare colleagues to deliver high quality learning and teaching based on contemporary research findings and clinical practice.
Essential qualifications
- Registration with the NMC or HCPC
- A relevant degree in a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession, and completion of a physical assessment module or equivalent
- Professional experience as a clinical practitioner
- A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
- Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health including current clinical, professional, leadership and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach the subject
- Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning of physical assessment of adults and cardiac and respiratory assessment related skills and knowledge in university and/or practice setting
An active research portfolio and publication record, and a postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) is desirable, but by no means essential. Please see the attached job description and person specification for full details of this role. Informal enquiries can be made to Oli Davies.
