Role
The Legal Counsel reports to the Director, Legal Services & Corporate Secretary and works closely with another legal counsel. The incumbent serves as the primary legal contract for our EMEA & APAC regions, providing additional support for global corporate matters as needed.
Your Day with Equisoft
- Serve as the main legal point of contact for all EMEA & APAC legal matters
- Review and negotiate contracts, including global NDAs, service agreements, licensing agreements, statements of work, procurement agreements, amendments, change requests and renewals for the EMEA & APAC region.
- Negotiate and draft complex software licensing agreements, focusing on SaaS arrangements.
- Lead contract negotiations for technology and financial services agreements subject to European Banking Authority (EBA) Guidelines and Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws in the UK.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across multiple time zones.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory compliance matters.
- Coordinate and manage corporate secretarial matters across EMEA & APAC jurisdictions, liaising with local external counsel, overseeing entity compliance requirements and ensuring timely completion of statutory filings and governance obligations.
- Support global corporate legal matters as required.
Requirements
Technical
- England and Wales qualified lawyer with 3–7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience negotiating software licensing agreements, specifically SaaS agreements.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements subject to EBA Guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements subject to DORA.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
