Overview
Are you an experienced energy lawyer ready to take on a strategically important role in a dynamic infrastructure business? This is a remote role with occasional travel within the UK. We’re partnering with a leading organisation at the forefront of change in the energy sector, seeking a key legal hire to help shape the future of their business.
This national business is part of the UK infrastructure landscape and is actively embracing changes in how it generates, uses, and sells energy as part of its wider operations. The opportunity is for an ambitious and experienced energy lawyer who wants to play a formative role in delivering these changes.
Ideal candidates will typically be at least 6 years qualified, with established experience in a wide range of energy matters, including a portfolio of energy contract work. You will join a highly collaborative legal team working at the heart of strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead on cutting-edge energy transformation projects as the business adapts to significant market changes.
- Engage with the Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and work closely with stakeholders across the business and the wider legal team.
- Provide legal guidance on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals and how legal matters support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
- Support the delivery of energy-related initiatives that have real commercial impact.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, challenge, and continuous improvement within the legal function.
Qualifications
- 6+ years qualified as a solicitor (or equivalent).
- Established experience in a broad range of energy matters, including energy contract work, from private practice or in-house.
- Comfort working with senior stakeholders, including the Board and SLT, and translating complex legal issues into commercial advice.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across a broad, multi-disciplinary business.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on change and innovation in energy and sustainability.
- Remote role with occasional travel within the UK; full-time or part-time (4 day per week equivalent) options available.
