General Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the legal team of a high-growth software development business in a supportive and innovative work environment. As a Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and Vice President of Legal to provide legal support and assistance across Aptean’s UKI business.
Responsibilities
- Analysing, summarising, advising on, drafting and negotiating all kinds of contracts between Aptean’s customers and Aptean’s vendors, including software and SaaS agreements, order forms, novation agreements and variation agreements
- Assisting with the legal requirements of RFPs/Tenders
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and Aptean’s corporate policies
- Negotiating with outside parties on contractual issues
- Assisting in managing legal risks within the business
- Providing legal advice to a wide range of internal stakeholders, including account managers, sales and service delivery personnel
- Supporting contract renewals and variations
Required Experience
- Qualified solicitor. 3 - 6 years post-qualification experience (PQE) as a Commercial Solicitor
- Experience of working in a commercial in house role
- Experience in technology contracts (e.g. SaaS/software) including negotiating software/SaaS contracts with customers
- Experience with data processing agreements is desirable

- Strong commercial acumen and business sense
- Excellent contract negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent analytical, communication, diplomatic, research and drafting skills
- Fluent English language skills
