New role for a Legal & Wordings Counsel for a leading, multi‑national specialty (re)insurer. The role is a 12‑month maternity cover, starting January 2026.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing key insurance agreements and contracts.
- Supporting the underwriters on policy wordings queries, ensuring the suite of wordings is up to date.
- Advising underwriters regarding endorsements and changes to policy wordings across multiple lines of business.
- Advising on key commercial insurance agreements, including NDAs, TOBAs, Binding Authority Agreements and TPAs.
- Assessing and advising on key regulatory changes affecting the business from a legal perspective, including FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s regulations.
- Occasionally supporting on litigation and arbitration matters where needed.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years PQE, with strong experience in Insurance Law, ideally within the London Market/Lloyd’s. You will be a first‑time mover from Private Practice, or working in‑house for a leading (re)insurer. Experience of drafting policy wordings is advantageous. You must be able to start within the next month.
