Overview

To promote and administer the lettings of rooms of the historic Leicester Unitarian ‘Great Meeting’ Chapel. To oversee and co-ordinate the maintenance of the Chapel buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Tasks of Lettings Secretary: Maintain the Chapel Diary/excel spreadsheet detailing day, date, organisation, time, room(s), contact person and hire charge.
  • Be point of contact for all Great Meeting Chapel lettings enquires by email, phone and text.
  • Meet and greet occasional lets, with lock and unlock of doors and alarm.
  • Maintain online accounts: Issue invoices; Log payments and email receipts.
  • Make pro-active attempts to advertise the chapel’s facilities by posters, fliers, banners, advertising and/or social media.
  • Tasks of Maintenance Co-ordinator: Arrange bi-annual service of alarm system. Perform required alarm checks.
  • Monitor chapel for leaks and if found notify chairman or any committee member immediately.
  • Obtain quotes and liaise with outside maintenance firms such as builders, roofers, plumbers and electricians when repairs requested by vestry.
  • Troubleshoot problems with regard to the buildings and equipment as they arise eg pipe leaks, breakdown of heating or other equipment, in consultation with the committee.

Requirements

  • Essential requirements: Computer literacy including spreadsheets.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills both interpersonal and across a range of media.
