Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment. The position offers remote working and provides an excellent opportunity to support a busy legal team on a varied range of commercial and construction matters. The Role Position: Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time Duties will include:

Drafting and advising on JCT and NEC construction contracts Drafting and advising on grant funding agreements and contracts for services Advising on framework call-offs, including Crown Commercial Service and SCAPE frameworks Providing advice on Contract Procedure Rules (CPRs) and governance, including reviewing officer reports Offering ad hoc advice on issues such as debt recovery, procurement challenges, and contractual disputes

Ideal Candidate

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent local government or public sector experience Strong knowledge of commercial, procurement, and construction law Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts and framework agreements Excellent communication and advisory skills, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
