We deliver our life-changing service across the UK, supporting the NHS to provide vital eye care to people who may struggle to get to the high street unaided.

Location notes: Each day you’ll see a cluster of 6–7 patients within the same local area. Travel can be up to 50 miles from your home postcode, but this won’t be every day — some days you may work just 5 miles away, other days 30–40 miles. Once in your area for the day, you’ll only have a short drive between patients as they will be clustered in the same postcode region.

Equipment: All Locum Optometrists are provided with a full equipment kit, along with comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident before working independently. You can view our equipment in action here Equipment Video.

Responsibilities

• Help around 6-7 patients every day, visiting them in their own homes. Appointments are longer than typical high-street visits (about 1 hour) to allow time to form strong relationships and deliver gold-standard care.
• Be trusted to make autonomous decisions and be valued for your expertise. You can get support or a second opinion in minutes from our senior optometrist team at head office.
• Use the latest equipment, including mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer and our digital records system, which minimizes paperwork.
