Job Purpose
The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods, managing customs clearance processes, and optimizing logistics operations. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, customs regulations, and international trade practices. The incumbent will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams, to ensure seamless coordination and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to logistics management.
This is a hybrid working role based in our Coventry office.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Arrange shipments for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Compare costs with transport companies and freight forwarders to secure advantageous shipping rates.
- Perform and oversee all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including customs clearance, shipment tracking, documentation checking and preparation, and other related tasks in line with company policies and procedures.
- Follow up with suppliers to obtain complete shipping documents for customs and compliance purposes.
- Oversee freight assignments and proactively follow up on shipment activities until completion.
- Examine invoices and shipping manifests to ensure compliance with tariffs and customs regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve shipment-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in logistics operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage work priorities effectively with a sense of urgency.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and develop reports.
- Ability to identify and address logistic risks proactively.
- Experience handling chemical and DG (Dangerous Goods) items.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and classifications.
