What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Set clear goals, manage performance, and ensure the team operates efficiently.
  • Technical Contributions: Lead by example with hands-on involvement in technical work, including fulfilling new images and process automation.
  • Hiring and Team Building: Partner with recruiting to organize and lead interviewing, screening, and assessing candidates for technical skills and cultural fit.
  • Backlog Management: Work with the Technical Program Manager to prioritize and manage the image-building backlog, aligning tasks with immediate needs and long-term goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, and Partner Support to align engineering efforts with customer needs and go-to-market strategies.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Anticipate future work, project timelines, and resource needs. Develop estimates and plans with senior management to ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Technical Continuity: Stay connected with the team’s work by providing technical guidance and participating in key tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Location Requirement: UK (preferred). Other locations in Europe considered case-by-case.
  • Time Zone Collaboration: Ability to coordinate with teams in India, including occasional early-morning meetings within standard UK/Europe hours.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record in engineering teams in high-autonomy, high-trust environments.
  • Technical Background: At least 3 years of experience in Software Development, DevOps, or Cloud-Native engineering, with hands-on Linux experience.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Experience fostering learning and growth, mentoring engineers, and providing clear feedback for career development.
  • Global Collaboration: Experience working for a US-centric company with teams across Europe and the US in a distributed, remote setting.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate future challenges, plan for growth, and align technical work with business objectives. Cloud-Native experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (GCP, AWS).
