At GDPRLocal, we are at the forefront of providing cutting-edge solutions to meet data protection, AI and infosec regulations. Our platform covers not just GDPR, but most global data privacy frameworks, the AI compliance act, and other essential infosec frameworks such as ISO 27001.
With a highly innovative product team based in Skopje, Macedonia and a strong technology backbone, we deliver top-tier service to a diverse client base across the EU and globally. As we continue to grow at a rapid pace, we’re looking for an inspirational leader to join us in driving our business forward.
The Role
We are seeking a Managing Director to lead the execution of our vision and strategy. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will have full operational responsibility for our company’s growth, from owning the commercial performance to overseeing service delivery and managing our talented product team. As the MD, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of the company, delivering business objectives, and ensuring our solutions stay ahead of regulatory trends in data protection and compliance. This is your chance to lead a company that is changing the landscape of compliance services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Execution: Drive the implementation of the strategy set by the Board of Directors. Your leadership will ensure that business objectives are met efficiently while keeping an unwavering focus on growth and innovation in compliance services.
- Compliance Leadership: Oversee the company’s approach to GDPR, data protection laws, AI compliance, and other regulatory frameworks. Ensure that our solutions are aligned with the latest regulations and provide strategic insights into compliance trends.
- Business Development: Drive the commercial performance of the business in both new client acquisition and net revenue retention. We are in high growth mode and continuing to scale efficiently is a core focus.
- Tech Integration & Product Development: Collaborate closely with the in-house product team to ensure that our technology is seamlessly integrated with compliance services, driving both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Operational Excellence: Manage the day-to-day operations of the business, optimising resources and processes to ensure the company’s long-term success. Take ownership of financial performance, budgeting, and key performance metrics.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability, ensuring the company’s workforce is highly motivated and aligned with our mission.
- Growth and Expansion: Actively contribute to business development, identifying opportunities to expand our market presence globally. Ensure that the company’s commercial activities are strategically aligned to support rapid growth.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven leadership experience in a senior executive role, such as CEO, Managing Director, or equivalent, within a startup or fast-paced growth environment.
- Deep knowledge and experience in compliance, especially in GDPR, data protection, and AI-related regulations.
- Strong background in managing technology-driven services and collaborating with product teams.
- A track record of successfully executing strategies, achieving business growth, and leading high-performing teams.
- Financial and operational acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a focus on driving results and motivating diverse teams, including off-shore / remote teams.
- Experience working closely with a Board of Directors and aligning organisational strategies with business goals.
Personal Attributes:
- Visionary leader with a focus on execution.
- Strategic thinker, capable of navigating complex challenges and seizing new opportunities.
- Passionate about compliance, technology, and delivering value to clients.
- Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Strong ethical standards, with a commitment to regulatory excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at a company that’s redefining the future of compliance. While the role is primarily remote, the ideal candidate would be open to spending one day per week in our Brighton office.
