We are currently recruiting for a Marine & Transit Risk Consultant to join our established and experienced Risk Consulting team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.
Your Role
As part of RSA’s continued investment in Risk Consulting, we are looking to further strengthen our team with the appointment of a UK based Marine & Transit Risk Consultant. This opportunity is aimed at people with a background in transportation (by sea, road, or air), supply chain logistics, or marine loss adjusting or surveying, looking to further develop their existing skills and experience in risk engineering.
This role will involve organising, managing, and delivering efficient and effective risk management and loss prevention services to support winning and retaining profitable insurance business. You will conduct risk engineering surveys, complete desktop reviews, advise our customers and underwriters on risk engineering best practice, manage loss control programmes, and deliver positive risk management improvements focusing on commercial and corporate cargo and stock throughput programmes.
You will provide expert advice, guidance and coaching to less qualified colleagues to address technical referrals and raise standards and knowledge across the technical community. You will also provide overview reports and information in accordance with departmental protocols.
About You
To be successful in your role you will ideally have a logistics or risk management degree, or have relevant technical experience such as a maritime or road transport certificate of (Professional) Competency, Chartered Security Professional status. You will need experience of working within a security, claims or risk management field, either in industry or insurance, loss adjusting or surveying with evidence of specific technical training. You will also ideally have risk control knowledge including fire and security protection, transportation best practice (e.g. TAPA standards) and understand the laws and conventions governing international transportation.
