About The Role

Balfour Beatty is looking for a Mechanical Construction Manager to take ownership of construction activities on one of our key projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high-quality, and sustainable outcomes while leading subcontractors and site teams to success.

Responsibilities

  • Leading site construction activities – from briefings and RAMS to managing subcontractors and site managers.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Driving a culture of Zero Harm, inspiring your team to deliver safety excellence.
  • Promoting sustainability by embedding efficient practices for waste, water, and energy management.
  • Managing subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Working closely with project managers, surveyors, designers, and planners to keep projects on track.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Supporting defect management and ensuring a smooth handover process.

Who we\'re looking for

  • Proven construction management experience within mechanical or related disciplines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Financial awareness and a track record of delivering projects successfully.
  • Experience working as a Principal Contractor or Main Contractor on complex and live operational sites.
  • A valid CSCS card and SMSTS.
  • Training/experience in First Aid, Temporary Works Coordination, Asbestos Awareness, and Fire Marshal duties.
  • Experience using BIM 360 Field and Plan.
