Mechanical Design Engineer

• Hybrid – Reading site 3–4 days/week |
• Highly regulated, mission-critical environment
• Security Clearance required

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a leading organisation in the defence and national security sector, supporting vital infrastructure projects with complex engineering challenges. Their work underpins safety and reliability within one of the UK's most regulated and secure environments. Due to a strategic shift in project needs, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) to support their in-demand programme of works.

THE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (HVAC) ROLE:

You’ll play a critical role in supporting decommissioning and upgrade works, overseeing the design and maintenance of HVAC systems across nuclear facilities. This is a hands-on engineering design role with a strong focus on reliability, safety and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with engineers and design authorities, using CAD tools and simulation software to deliver compliant, effective HVAC solutions.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (HVAC) ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong background in HVAC design and maintenance
• Experience working in highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear, defence, aerospace, etc.)
• Proficient with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
• Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and standards
• SC or DV Clearance (must be active)
