Music Director

Longborough Festival Opera (LFO) is seeking a Music Director to provide artistic and musical leadership from September 2026. The position involves working with the Artistic and Executive Directors to shape the company’s artistic direction, conduct at least one opera production per season, and lead the orchestra, chorus and principal artists.
Candidates should have extensive experience conducting opera, particularly late Romantic and Wagnerian repertoire, and demonstrate strong leadership, musicianship, and collaborative skills. Fluency in English and proficiency in operatic languages are required.
The position is a freelance contract for a five-year term, with hybrid working arrangements based in Longborough, Gloucestershire.
