You will take full ownership of the Samsung–Argos relationship, defining and executing a robust joint business plan that spans Smartphones, Tablets, Wearables, Computing, and Accessories. This role is central to delivering Samsung’s commercial objectives in the UK retail market, with accountability for sell-in, sell-out, attach, ASP uplift, and market share performance.
Role And Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
- Own and lead the end-to-end Samsung commercial relationship with Argos, managing a multi-category portfolio and high-value revenue base.
- Develop and implement the Joint Business Plan (JBP) with Argos’ senior commercial team, aligning Samsung’s strategic goals with partner priorities.
- Drive category innovation and market share growth through bold, insight-led planning and execution.
- Deliver core KPIs: sell-in volume, sell-out performance, revenue growth, attach rate improvement, ASP uplift, and category penetration.
- Lead annual and quarterly forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment across commercial and operational functions.
- Optimize pricing, promotional investment, and ROI through data-driven decision making and regular commercial performance reviews.
- Build strong, senior-level relationships with Argos’s stakeholders in buying, planning, supply, and digital commerce.
- Negotiate and secure high-impact promotional placements, digital campaigns, and launch activations that drive traffic, conversion, and brand preference.
- Act as Samsung’s ambassador within Argos, driving visibility, trust, and long-term growth alignment.
- Lead internal coordination with Product, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Retail Field teams to deliver seamless execution.
- Ensure operational excellence across product lifecycle management, demand planning, digital readiness, and campaign rollout.
- Own internal and external QBRs, reporting, and communication that inform leadership decisions and track account health.
- Apply deep understanding of UK retail trends, Argos shopper behaviour, and competitive dynamics to identify and act on opportunities.
- Leverage Samsung’s market intelligence and category leadership to shape the partner strategy and win at the point of purchase.
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- 5–8 years’ experience in retail account management, commercial leadership, or national sales roles—ideally within Consumer Electronics, Telecoms, or FMCG.
- Proven ability to own and grow large, complex retail accounts with full commercial P&L responsibility.
- Highly analytical and confident with commercial performance data, pricing models, and strategic forecasting tools.
- Strong negotiation skills, with experience influencing senior external stakeholders and driving cross-functional execution.
- Commercially curious, consumer-focused, and results-driven—able to think strategically and act tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Samsung becomes a top-performing brand across all relevant categories within Argos, with standout execution and brand presence.
- Strong double-digit growth in sell-out, attach, and ASP, with well-managed promotional planning and profitable returns.
- A robust, multi-year JBP is in place, underpinned by shared ambition, innovation, and deep commercial trust with Argos leadership.
- Samsung is recognised as a category thought leader and preferred partner by Argos, with best-in-class joint execution.
- Internal teams view the Argos account as a benchmark of excellence in strategic retail partnership and commercial execution.
