Full time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Salary - £26,480 per annum

As a Payroll Administrator, you'll play a key part in delivering Serco's payroll services across multiple pay frequencies. You'll be responsible for processing payroll transactions accurately, resolving employee queries, and maintaining data integrity in line with UK legislative requirements and internal deadlines.
This role offers a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in payroll while contributing to the smooth operation of one of the UK's largest payrolls.
As part of this you'll:
Payroll Processing & Support
Process payroll transactions such as salary changes, absences, bonuses, overtime, and statutory payments.
Maintain up-to-date payroll records in systems like ResourceLink and SAP HR.
Perform regular payroll checks and reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies.
Call Handling & Query Resolution
Handle inbound calls and provide professional, friendly support to employees with payroll queries.
Investigate issues thoroughly and follow up until resolution.
Escalate complex issues appropriately and document call themes for ongoing improvements.
Data Integrity & Compliance
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, NI, SSP, and SMP.
Adhere to GDPR and internal policies when managing sensitive employee information.
Maintain high standards of accuracy in all payroll inputs and outputs.
What you'll need to do the role:
Experience & Knowledge
Some understanding or exposure to UK payroll processes and legislation is an advantage.
Comfortable working with data and interested in payroll systems like ResourceLink or SAP HR.
Logical and methodical approach to data entry, checking, and reporting.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
Clear communicator with a helpful and empathetic approach.
Confident handling phone-based queries.
Curious, eager to learn, and open to feedback and training.
Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion.
