Base pay range

  • £35,254 per annum plus additional benefits
  • (Full time equivalent salary £43,480)
  • 30 hours per week (Mon‑Fri with Flexi‑time)
  • Permanent role
  • Home‑based with occasional travel

The role & what you take care of

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated People Business Partner, who takes ownership of tasks and empowers others to do the same, demonstrating confidence in communicating ideas and inspiring action through creative and innovative approaches. The ideal candidate will employ persistence, tenacity, and diplomacy while championing the benefits of change, overcoming obstacles by utilising an engaging communication style to win hearts and minds at all levels of the organisation. Your commitment to delivering people‑focused outcomes through data‑driven insights and a comprehensive approach, paired with your curiosity and proactive engagement in projects and work streams will ensure that colleagues’ needs are prioritised during decision‑making processes, enhancing and optimising the colleague lifecycle and experience.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Magna’s business areas to help deliver innovative and purposeful people solutions aligned with our long‑term objectives.
  • Analyse monthly metrics from systems such as Workday Peakon to proactively address issues, drive improvements, and maintain data integrity through system optimisation and training.
  • Coach and support managers on people processes to ensure legally compliant, consistent outcomes that support business goals, including solutions for conduct, conflict, health, and wellbeing matters.
  • Collaborate with the wider people and leadership teams on workforce planning, structure design, and fostering a positive workplace, while maintaining professional relationships through networking and CPD events. A role profile is attached to this advert.

What you need to be successful

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively address and resolve a variety of issues, consistently seeking timely and effective solutions.
  • Proven experience in partnering with managers at all organisational levels to implement people processes and projects that align with our values and enhance Magna’s organisational culture and attributes.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, actively sharing knowledge and best practice to achieve both individual and team objectives.
  • An adaptable and discreet professional with comprehensive experience across all aspects of the role, contributing to broader team initiatives such as ED&I, Wellbeing, and Reward. Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and core people practices, as advised by organisations such as ACAS, is required.
