Position Summary
The People & Culture Business Partner (PCBP) will serve as a key point of contact for our team members and managers based outside of the United States, providing professional, responsive, and values-aligned human resources support. Based in the UK (GMT time zone), the PCBP will support the full employee lifecycle across multiple regions, ensuring local relevance and global consistency in people practices and in partnership with our Employer-of-Record (EOR). This role will be instrumental in reinforcing a positive employee experience and fostering a people-centric culture at Textile Exchange. The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge of employment regulations in the UK with familiarity across various countries, a strong customer service orientation, a collaborative mindset, and a demonstrated ability to coach both employees and managers through complex employee relations issues, performance management, and development conversations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, 100% remote, mission-driven, and global work environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Staff Relations & Support
- Serve as the primary human resources contact for a growing workforce of approximately 100 team members and managers based outside of the US, providing day-to-day guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management.
- Coach and support managers in proactively addressing employee relations issues, fostering team engagement, and navigating sensitive workplace concerns in a constructive, legally compliant, and values-aligned manner.
- Partner with managers and the US-based Learning & Development Specialist to identify learning needs across regions and support the development and implementation of relevant learning and development opportunities.
- Assist with the implementation of new and updated HR policies and initiatives across regions.
- Coordinate with EOR’s legal and HR advisors on country-specific issues as needed.
- Partner with the Senior Director, People & Culture, to ensure practices are legally compliant and culturally appropriate in diverse global contexts.
Onboarding, Offboarding & Lifecycle Management
- Ensure seamless onboarding experiences by coordinating with EOR, People & Culture team members, hiring managers, IT, and other relevant departments.
- Support employees and managers during offboarding, including exit interviews, logistics, and compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and support HR data integrity across platforms and documentation.
Talent Acquisition Partnership
- In partnership with the US-based Recruiter, collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and success profiles, and act as intermediary with the internal Recruiter and external headhunters, if needed.
- Provide guidance and training on inclusive and effective interviewing techniques, including structured interviewing and bias reduction.
- Support hiring managers in crafting clear, compelling, and equitable job descriptions.
- Facilitate interview debrief sessions and help teams make thoughtful, principle-aligned hiring decisions.
- Support hiring managers and recruiters to ensure a consistent, compliant, and positive hiring experience for both managers and candidates.
- Provide back-up to the internal Recruiter by offering support with job postings, candidate sourcing, screenings, and conducting interviews as needed.
HR Systems & Processes
- Maintain and update employee records in alignment with data protection and privacy standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, tools, and templates.
- Generate reports and metrics to support decision-making and track key trends.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, People and Culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, behavioral science or relevant field, or education equivalent in work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a generalist or HR business partner role within a global organization.
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR practices in the UK and familiarity across other countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and balance global consistency with local nuance.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPD, HRCI, and/or SHRM certification or equivalent HR qualification.
- Experience working for a large non-profit or NGO.
- Experience working remotely and across time zones in a dispersed team.
- Experience partnering with an Employer-of-Record administrator (i.e., Remote).
- Knowledge of sustainable fashion, environmental, or social impact fields.
- Experience with BambooHR HRMS and SharePoint.
