Personal Tax Manager
5 Days Old
Looking for your next step in personal tax? This well-established Reading-based firm is searching for an experienced Personal Tax Manager to take the reins of a growing portfolio of personal clients - including landlords, HNWIs, and internationally mobile individuals.
This is not your average compliance treadmill. Yes, you'll be reviewing and preparing tax returns, but you'll also be delivering proactive planning advice across inheritance tax, residency, and more. You'll have the autonomy to run your desk and make your mark, while reporting weekly into an engaged Tax Director who actually wants your input.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and delivering quality compliance work
- Providing advisory input across inheritance tax, residency issues, and CGT
- Liaising directly with HMRC on compliance checks and disclosures
- Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their development
- Playing a key role in overseeing the firm's personal tax compliance function
What they're after:
- ATT or CTA qualified (or close to it)
- At least 5 years' experience in a practice tax environment
- Someone who's confident working independently and meeting deadlines
- Strong communicator who enjoys client interaction and problem-solving
- Experience with Xero Tax, Digita, or advanced Excel? Even better.
What's in it for you:
- £55,000 to £65,000 salary, depending on experience
- Hybrid working - the flexibility to work where you're most productive
- 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, plus the option to buy more
- Pension, life assurance, EAP, enhanced family leave, sick pay
- Christmas closure (with your out-of-office on and a mince pie in hand)
- Access to a flexible benefits platform - cycle to work, PMI, dental, and more
If you're looking for a step up in responsibility without the red tape, or a new environment where you can blend compliance and advisory work, this could be just the thing.
Drop me a message if you'd like to know more or see the spec.
