Overview

The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic planning and consenting delivery model, identifying opportunities to accelerate planning timelines and proactively mitigate risks to programme delivery.
  • Review consenting strategies across all IC2 projects to provide strategic guidance, evaluate alternative consenting approaches, identify opportunities to optimise the use of Anglian Water’s permitted development rights as a statutory undertaker and associated risks.
  • Work closely with the Stakeholder Relationships Manager to identify key considerations and develop practical solutions for effective stakeholder engagement, contributing to a cohesive planning and stakeholder strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with the enabling team, stakeholder engagement leads, senior project managers, engineers, designers and construction teams to help deliver schemes on time, on budget and with minimal environmental impact.
  • Work closely with the SPA Town and Country Planning team to assist them with conducting pre-application consultation with the Local Planning Authorities and, where necessary, other relevant stakeholders.
  • Use digital technology to drive innovation and efficiency within the Enabling Team, Consenting Team, the wider business and local planning authorities.
  • Keep up to date with T&C Planning and Environmental legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with wider Enabling and Consenting Team to manage workload, to meet planning and programme targets.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Health & Safety (H&S), ensuring consistent H&S standards are maintained.
  • Ensure completion of a full Induction to H&S in accordance with Company policies, procedures, standards and/or guidance.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the T&C Planning system.
  • Ability to work flexibly across several projects and to meet required deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Effective organization/analytical skills.
  • Experience in recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
  • Experience of reviewing & developing strategy documents.
  • Experience in using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) packages such as ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo for geoprocessing and visualisation of data.
  • Previous experience of working in a T&C Planning role.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject.
  • Member of RTPI or Eligible to join.
