Our client is currently seeking a skilled Planning Policy Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity for flexible working with occasional office presence required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing planning policies in line with regional and national guidelines
- Conducting research and data analysis to inform policy decisions
- Engaging with stakeholders, including the public, government bodies, and developers
- Preparing and presenting reports, policy documents, and recommendations
- Monitoring and reviewing existing policies to ensure they remain effective and up-to-date
- Providing expert advice on planning policy matters
- Attending meetings and consultations as required
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure cohesive policy implementation
Job Requirements:
- Experience in planning policy, ideally within the public sector
- Strong understanding of regional and national planning legislation
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a range of audiences
- Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and policy documents
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in planning or a related discipline
- Competitive hourly rate inside IR35
