Overview

This is a Platform Engineer role with identifi Global Resources. Location: Hybrid – Edinburgh. Clearance: Active SC Clearance required. Contract Duration: 3 Months + Extensions to 12 months (full-time, 100% allocation).

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and play a key role in shaping and maintaining a modern, scalable platform. This is an opportunity to contribute to the full platform lifecycle – from defining requirements and building features, through to implementing best practices in development, testing, and documentation.

What you’ll do

• Support and maintain core development tools and infrastructure, including quality assurance systems and server resource management.
• Provide guidance and best practices to development teams.
• Use modern technologies (cloud platforms, microservices, DevOps practices) to build and maintain robust, scalable systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
• Contribute to documentation, guides, and specifications to enable knowledge sharing across teams.

Key skills and experience

• Cloud platforms, containers, microservices, DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Application and server administration.
• Automation, monitoring and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Cybersecurity principles for secure system design.
• Data visualisation and communication of technical insights.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Duration: 3 Months + Ext
• Hours: 100% allocation (full-time)
• Rate: Negotiable based on experience
• IR35: INSIDE IR35
• Clearance: SC Clearance is essential
• Location: Hybrid working, Edinburgh - amount to be confirmed.
