Platform Technical Architect (AWS) – Digital Service Platforms

Location: Birmingham, Belfast, or Remote (UK)

Salary: Up to £100K

Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance

We’re looking for an experienced Platform Technical Architect (AWS) to lead the design and delivery of modern digital service platforms using cutting-edge cloud technologies. As a Platform Technical Architect (AWS), you will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and technical stakeholders to build high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions. You’ll provide technical leadership across multiple projects, make key design decisions, and mentor colleagues while driving innovation and adopting the latest technologies. Key Skills & Expertise

• Proven experience in designing, building, testing, automating, and supporting modern digital service platforms in production environments
• Expertise in public cloud technologies (AWS or Azure), including SaaS and PaaS offerings
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with automation tooling and scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy, or PowerShell)
• Skilled in applying infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrable ability to implement security controls and monitoring across infrastructure and applications
• Experience leading teams and fostering a DevOps culture within large-scale, complex projects
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Desirable: AWS/Azure certifications, Kubernetes CKAD certification, experience with cloud-native tooling, and participation in technical communities
