Overview

Automation Engineer at Barclays (via hackajob) to support Strategy to Execution plans and help build out an open-source PostgreSQL offering. The goal is to create a PostgreSQL relational database service that can compete with Oracle and MS SQL solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support Strategy to Execution plans for the PostgreSQL offering.
• Contribute to building and operating a PostgreSQL-based relational database service, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of full-stack microservices-based solutions, particularly infrastructure/databases, with containerisation (Kubernetes/OpenShift).

Qualifications

• Minimum experience of 8 years in software development and automation using Python, Ansible, and database technologies, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and building full-stack solutions based on microservices architecture, with emphasis on infrastructure/databases and containerisation using Kubernetes (OpenShift).
• Working knowledge of GIT, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools, including integration between multiple tools to facilitate user stories.

Location

Role can be based in Knutsford or Glasgow.
