Are you a bit tired of the standard, old-fashioned way of doing things in the construction industry? Do you get deep satisfaction from making things run more efficiently using a good dose of common sense and maybe a bit of technology? Have you always cared about the importance of proper planning and the connection between the schedule and the real, day-to-day delivery of the job? Have you ever wanted to work a bit more flexibly but still be hands-on in construction and improving the industry? Sounds like a dream. Well, it isn’t. It’s quite real! Read on.

We are Laminar Projects! We’re a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer focused on upgrading the way construction projects are delivered. We bring transparency and control to projects through a mix of the latest tech, our processes, and common sense, and we invest in digital solutions for project delivery. Our people are our secret sauce, and we’re focused on creating a culture that supports the team’s growth.

This role is part of our Planning team and Project Planning Discipline Team, working on complex construction projects in the UK and internationally, with initial UK placement and potential relocation to the UAE for project-based assignments. You’ll develop integrated master schedules, project controls, and data-driven reporting systems to ensure precise delivery across phases. You’ll help the delivery team focus on what matters, spot risks early, and keep everyone aligned for effective execution.

Your team: You will be part of our Planning team focused on understanding project problems, implementing solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools, and technology.

Your top three objectives: make construction projects deliver to near perfection; create scalable and repeatable solutions; develop yourself and those around you.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Own the plan: own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure timely delivery, with delays mitigated and managed commercially
  • Own the outcome: contribute to the project’s understanding and focus on the plan
  • Report and inform: provide actionable reports to stakeholders to improve delivery
  • Make scalable solutions: develop repeatable best practices and tools with the team
  • Develop everyone: coach, support, and grow a high‑performing team and elevate client capabilities

Your Capabilities: we train you in the full breadth of project management skills, including planning, commercial, leadership, communication, and technology.

You must have:

  • A construction engineering background with 7+ years of experience in roles such as Project Planner, PMO, or Project Controls; proficiency in Primavera P6 and Excel; familiarity with Safran, Deltek Acumen Fuse, and Power BI or ability to learn quickly
  • Communication skills: proficient in written and verbal English across project levels
  • Leadership capabilities: hands-on approach to driving clarity and alignment
  • Impact: track record of real project improvements and outcomes

Laminar isn’t the place for you if you seek an easy, low-challenge role or prefer to work alone; we value candid feedback and teamwork.
