We're on the lookout for a sharp, data-driven Pricing Manager to join our Home Pricing team at Tesco Underwriting. This is more than just a job - it's a chance to make your mark in a high-performing general insurance pricing team.

Opportunity

In this permanent Pricing Manager role, you'll lead a small, talented team and work at the heart of our Pricing function, collaborating across the Home Insurance Value Stream to shape pricing strategies that keep us ahead of the market.

The Role

•The delivery, management and oversight of the Home rating structure, to achieve within the financial plan.
•Leading underwriting performance at a granular level. Proposing timely pricing or underwriting action is taken when performance is outside expectations or opportunities arise.
•Communicating the results of pricing proposals to peers, senior management and external parties as appropriate, including assessment of the end-to-end impact on the Tesco Insurance and Money Services P&L.
•Ensuring that work processes and pricing specifications are adequately documented, validated and stored within a clear directory structure with complete version history.
•Coaching and full line management of a small team of analysts, ensuring the needs of the individual are met. Responsibilities such as allocating work, motivating, and supporting personal development. This could be a fantastic opportunity to step into management.
•Supporting the Home Risk Pricing Team and collaborators from across the business within the Home Value Stream.
•Keeping knowledge and skills up to date and driving your own personal development.

We need you to have (min experience)

•Strong theoretical and practical understanding of Personal Lines underwriting and pricing principles.
•Prior experience using industry standard pricing tools e.g., Radar and SAS
•A strong record of education attainment with a degree in numerical subject - ideally a 2.1 classification.
•Highly computer literate; able to use Excel and other common data analysis and data processing/modelling software.
•Ability to explain sophisticated analysis in plain English, avoiding jargon, and communicate material financial implications of modelling and analysis decisions.
•Good organisational skills; able to deliver tasks within agreed timescales. Ability to work as part of a team; fostering positive relationships and providing mutual support and guidance.

•Strong appetite and ability to research new modelling techniques using a range of tools including R and Python.
•Previous management or coaching experience.
